Focus
As the Native American Indians pointed out "Nature works in circles, only the white man thinks in straight lines". Indeed, straight line thinking might be the very crux of what is causing present problems with sustainability.
At Springstone we have for a long time now been living and working with nature's rhythms - the lunar cycles, the wheel of the year - with all the abundance and scarcity that this involves, rather than expecting anything we want to be immediately available all the time.
Nature, left to her own resources, is intrinsically sustainable. We all need to rethink our approach to the natural world and learn ways to work with it rather than through it.
We appreciate that living rurally with land allows us to be more sustainable than people in towns and cities, but we chose to do this, knowing that it would require a large commitment of our time. However, everyone can take steps, no matter how small, towards a more sustainable way of life. Everyone can do their bit, and every little bit that's done is important. We will be providing helpful tips in our downloads section so that interested people can ease themselves into a more sustainable lifestyle.
