Facilities
The studio is located in a former barn which adjoins the main house. It is ideally suited to escape the pressures of life and let your inspiration take form and is in a perfect position for recording audio, free from the noise spill of urban life.
The naturally-lit 500sq.ft performance area has a well-balanced acoustic, perfect for capturing all manner of acoustic instruments and vocal performances with a full-bodied sound complete with crystal clear top-end.
Depending upon the type of performance or instrument being recorded, we use either our E-MU Darwin or Tascam MS-16 multi-track tape recorder. The MS-16 has 115bD signal-to-nose ratio and none of the bandwidth limitations imposed by the digital format, delivering punchy, dynamic warmth with real energy. Both these machines can be synced together seamlessly.
For those with sequencing requirements, the Akai MPC2000XL is quick and intuitive to use and can be synced to both the MS-16 and Darwin. Clients who have already prepared sequenced material can bring it along as MIDI files for playback through the MPC.
